6 Simple Steps to Follow When You Get Your Colored Contacts
Bought your color contacts for the first time? Unsure of what to do when you first receive your colored contact lenses? Here are 6 vital and simple steps for you to refer to when you firstly get your contact lens! By following these guides and reminders, you can take good care and store your contact lenses in a more hygienic way! This is to ensure our eyes are healthy and pretty while wearing colored contact lenses!
1. Check the Vital Information
The first thing you need to do when you receive your colored contact lenses is to check the essential information of the contacts. You will need to check the prescription, which you can find on the top of the bottle and the diameter and base curve of the color lenses stated on the side of the bottle, and see if they match with your choices during your order. It is important to see the expiry date of the color contacts that can be found at the side of the bottle too. By checking through the bottom of the bottle, you can verify that the contacts are in the same color with your option.
2. Check the Condition of the Contact Lenses
The next thing you will need to do is examine the contact lens bottle for any serious damage. You must ensure that it is not broken or cracked. Then, you should check the color contact lenses if they have any defects including nick or tears. Please note that if the lenses, bottle or the solutions are in bad condition, expired, and do not match what you have ordered, do not wear the color contacts, and please contact our customer service at enquiry@pinkyparadise.com
3. Open Your Contacts Bottle Properly
If everything is okay, you can now open your contact lens bottle carefully. You will see an indicator (an arrow pointing upward) on the seal, which is the correct place to open the cap. You should lift the cap of the contact bottle until you rip off a little part of the seal. Then, you have to pull it around the steel seal to ensure they are completely removed. Don’t worry if you accidentally break off the cap from the steel seal before it is completely off. You will just need a scissor to get off them. Please be careful as the steel seal is sharp and it may cause injuries if careless.
4. Clean Your Contact Lens Case
Wash your hands properly with (preferably) no scented antibacterial soap. Next, take your contacts out and place them in a lens case such as our Cute Animal Lens Case and Transparent Contact Lens Storage Case. You should clean the lens storage case by pouring the multipurpose solution like our Dream Eye Multi-purpose Contact Lens Solution into it until 3 ⁄ 4 storage of the contact lens case is filled with the solution.
5. Clean and Soak Your Colored Contact Lenses Correctly
Before wearing your pretty colored contacts, it is essential to ensure your lenses are safe and clean to avoid any infections to your eyes. Make sure to clean the contacts by placing the lenses on your palm, pouring a few drops of multipurpose solutions on the contact lens and rubbing them gently with your fingers. Or you can just clean them with a contact lens cleaning tool such as our Frog Auto Lens Cleaner and Manual Rotary Contact Lens Cleaner. This step will help in getting rid of the germs. Eventually, place the clean lenses to the contacts cases and soak them in the multipurpose solution for 8 hours and your contacts are ready to be worn!
6. After Wearing, Store Them Correctly in Cases
After wearing color lenses, you will need to repeat step 3 and step 4 whenever you want to store the lenses in a lens case. Kindly note that contact lenses should be removed after 8 hours of usage or before sleeping.
